Two Instagram accounts are monitored on this page: @therelaxedmillionaire and @lianashanti. The spikes appear on @therelaxedmillionaire; @lianashanti is plotted over the same dates and on the same scale as a comparison. Instagram follower anomalies — large, sudden spikes in follower counts that do not correlate with any viral content, media coverage, or other organic growth event — have been documented across multiple Instagram accounts operated by public figure Liana Shanti (legal name Liane Wilson). Social Blade data spanning 2023 through November 2026 shows a recurring pattern of these spikes, each often followed by an equivalent purge of followers within days.
A follower anomaly typically presents as a sudden gain of hundreds or thousands of followers within a single day, with no corresponding spike in engagement — no viral post, no press mention, no collaboration. The gain is often partially reversed within hours to days. Instagram maintains automated protection systems that detect and remove accounts it identifies as inauthentic, and those removals are visible directly in the daily record. The net effect is a temporarily inflated follower count that fades but never fully resets to the prior baseline. When anomalies repeat across multiple accounts operated by the same individual, the pattern becomes harder to attribute to coincidence.
Latest: data through November 5, 2026
- Largest day on record: August 15, 2026, +3,187 on @therelaxedmillionaire, two days after the verdict, while @lianashanti moved −6 that day (verdict week, largest days).
- Largest removal: September 26, 2026, −2,768, two days after a +2,637 gain on September 24.
- October 2026: five gains of 300 or more (+1,438, +465, +691, +891, +1,392) and two removals (−626, −578); the account ended the month at 42,528 (October section).
- November 2026 (to November 5): no single-day move of 300 or more on either account; @therelaxedmillionaire went from 42,528 to 42,198 (−330) and @lianashanti from 34,261 to 34,853 (+592).
- Comparison account: @lianashanti moved +30 net in October, with one move of 300 or more (−325 on October 10).
- Whole record: across 231 days, 27 days gained 300 or more and 13 lost 300 or more; on the other 191 days the account lost a median of 51 followers a day.
The Pattern in One Picture
The chart below plots every day from March 14 to November 5, 2026 for @therelaxedmillionaire, exactly as Social Blade recorded it. Green bars are single days that added 300 or more followers; red bars are single days that removed 300 or more; grey is everything else. Twenty-seven green days added 31,937 followers between them. The other 191 days, taken together, lost 9,812 — 158 of them were negative. That is the anomaly in one picture: an account that shrinks on an ordinary day and grows only in sudden, isolated jumps.
The same person’s other account, @lianashanti, plotted on the same axis over the same days, shows one day above +300 all year. The full set of charts — including the follower-total “staircase” and a day-by-day September — is on the data analysis page.
@lianashanti: The August 2025 Removals
The anomalies do not only run upward. Through the first months of 2025, @lianashanti added roughly 40 to 80 followers almost every day. No daily record exists for March 11 – July 8, 2025, but across that window the count rose from 34,299 to 39,188, an increase of 4,889. The account peaked at 40,200 on July 31, 2025.
Over the next 27 days it lost 5,400 followers, reaching 34,800 on August 27, 2025, which is roughly as many as it had gained during the unrecorded spring. Six of those days each removed more than 300 followers, including −817 on August 10 and −832 on August 14. In September it regained 2,614, on twelve separate days of +100 or more (in July its daily gains had run +25 to +79), then settled into the slow decline that continues today (34,261 on October 31, 2026).
The same spring, people were leaving. In April 2025, after a deposition in Wilson’s own lawsuit, a number of members left her community (see Brady Decl., ECF 84-2 ¶ 9). Over those same months the account’s follower count did not fall. It rose by 4,889.
The same days, on both accounts. @therelaxedmillionaire, which was also gaining steadily through July 2025 (13,864 on July 31), lost followers on the same dates. It fell to 9,456 by August 25, about a third of its audience:
| Date (2025) | @lianashanti | @therelaxedmillionaire |
|---|---|---|
| August 10 | −817 | −1,570 |
| August 11 | −465 | −323 |
| August 14 | −832 | −743 |
| August 15 | −249 | −257 |
| August 16 | −230 | −271 |
| July 31 → late August | 40,200 → 34,800 | 13,864 → 9,456 |
What this can and cannot show. Social Blade records how many followers an account has each day, not who those followers are or why they left. Large, abrupt removals that hit two accounts on the same days are consistent with a platform-side cleanup (Instagram periodically removes accounts it identifies as fake or inactive), but the counts alone cannot confirm the cause.
The Latest: August – October 2026
October 2026. Between October 2 and October 31 @therelaxedmillionaire gained +1,438 on October 2 and lost −626 the next day, then gained +465 and +691 on October 4 and 5. Later it gained +891 on October 23 and +1,392 on October 27 before losing −288, −74 and −578 over the next three days. It ended the month at 42,528 followers, 3,384 above where the month’s record begins. Over the same 30 days the comparison account, @lianashanti, had one movement of that size (−325 on October 10) and a net change of +30.
August and September 2026. On August 15, 2026, two days after the 13 August 2026 jury verdict that closed the trial, in which the jury rejected Wilson’s defamation claims and returned just over $40 million against her, the account gained +3,187 followers in a single day, the largest one-day gain in the entire record, which now runs from August 2023 to October 2026. It reached a peak of 43,015 the following day before shedding followers for the rest of the month. September ran as a sequence of large gains each followed within days by a large removal, and the account still ended September 1,316 followers below where it began.

Caught in Real Time: May 29, 2026
On May 29, 2026, the Instagram account @therelaxedmillionaire — Liana Shanti’s current primary account — gained +1,976 followers in under one hour.
Social Blade logged the account at −55 for the day at 8:28 AM. By 9:24 AM — 56 minutes later — the same day’s count had revised to +1,976. A swing of over 2,000 followers in under an hour is not consistent with organic audience growth. The pattern is distinctive — a sharp gain in a short window, followed by a reversal of similar magnitude within days as Instagram’s protection mechanisms act on the added accounts. The reversal is often immediate, and can be seen directly in the day-by-day data.
The Broader Pattern: Three Years, Multiple Accounts
The May 29 event is not isolated. The same Instagram follower anomalies have been documented across multiple accounts over nearly three years:
- @lianashanti — Documented August 2023 – March 2026. Grew from 24,070 to a peak near 40,200 (July 2025). Single-day gains from +83 (August 2023) up to +535, and a 30-day gain of +2,140 (October 2025); removal waves of −5,010 in 30 days (August 2025, including single days of −648 and −713) and −1,416 in 30 days (December 2025); then near-flat at about 35,500 through spring 2026.
- @femalefortunes — Roughly 2,500 followers and flat through 2024, then 5,031 (January 2025) → 8,087 (March 2025), more than tripling in four months. Wound down by May 2026: profile picture removed, bio cleared, count declining (14,748 → 13,030).
- @therelaxedmillionaire — Documented July 2025 to present. From 13,864 (July 31, 2025) the account fell in a removal cascade to 9,456 (August 25 — including −1,570 on August 10 alone), then climbed to 38,493 (June 5, 2026) and to a peak of 43,573 (October 27, 2026); it stood at 42,198 on November 5, 2026. The largest documented single-day gains — +3,187 (August 15, 2026), +2,814 (April 7, 2026), +2,637 (September 24, 2026), +2,019 (March 15, 2026), +1,976 (May 29, 2026), +1,644 (July 9, 2026), +1,438 (October 2, 2026), +1,392 (October 27, 2026), +1,363 (May 14, 2026) and +1,328 (May 12, 2026) — total about 19,800 followers, while typical daily movement between them is flat or negative: of 231 recorded days from March 14 to November 5, 2026, 158 of the 191 ordinary days lost followers. A Social Blade 30-day capture from May 29 documents three spikes within a single month: +1,328 on May 12, +1,363 on May 14, and +1,976 on May 29. The May 29 spike was caught in real time — the account sat at −55 at 8:28 AM and had revised to +1,976 by 9:24 AM, a swing of over 2,000 followers in 56 minutes.
The records show large gains concentrated on a small number of individual days, repeatedly followed by multi-day removals, across accounts operated under one identity — while the same operator’s other properties remain flat over the same periods. Social Blade’s daily tracking makes the anomalies visible to anyone willing to look — no special tools or subscriptions required.
